Starting a business used to be a simple affair. An individual would make or buy some goods, paint a sign and start selling them from home or a barrow. Over time the operation of even the smallest business became increasingly complicated. Businesses of all sizes now operate in a global economy. Competition continues to intensify. Government regulation is ubiquitous. Professional advisers are not an option, they are mandatory. The prospective business owner of the 21st Century requires an enormous range of skills and access to significant capital. The challenge is bigger than ever before and that trend will continue. In response to these developments, new business models have evolved. They have evolved in direct response to the demands of the current era. They represent adaptation to a world that has changed completely. The old paradigms are failing more often than they succeed, but they still have adherents who dismiss and scorn the new arrivals. These are the descendant of the flat earth society. They contend that the new models are not real businesses, but hobbies or even scams. All new business models are met with resistance until a tipping point is achieved. As with any new idea or innovation the early adopters confront scorn and ridicule, but successful ideas not only survive but progressively gather momentum. Eventually the early adopters are recognised as either visionaries or the lucky ones in the right place at the right time. A classic example was the success of the franchise phenomena. Franchising came close to being outlawed in many parts of the world during the first 20 years of its emergence. Franchising is now all pervasive in every conceivable line of business. The franchising model evolved over time from a rough and ready mechanism into a precision instrument that could be rolled out across the globe with a predictable rate of success.Network marketing is now approaching a tipping point similar to that of the franchise industry some 10-15 years ago. Its multi-billion scale is poorly understood by many otherwise well informed people. The myth that network marketing or direct marketing is somehow associated with pyramid schemes still survives in the minds of some who are not actually familiar with either direct selling or what constitutes an illegal pyramid scheme. A new generation of people untouched by earlier versions of the model is now being exposed to "network marketing" as a consequence of its adoption by Fortune 500 corporations. For these organisations its a highly effective means of distributing products and services and clear evidence that the model has achieved maturity and legitimacy. This trend has converged with recognition by millions of individuals across the globe that establishing a home based network marketing business represents a low cost low risk means of entering the ranks of business owner, or B Quadrant as defined by Robert T. Kiyosaki. There is also a convergence with trends in the job market. Job security no longer exists. An increasing proportion of people have been made redundant at least once in their working lives. These people are highly receptive to options that will give them greater control over their financial destiny and personnel affairs.Network marketing permits individuals to own and operate a business within hours of making a decision to sign up. At nominal cost they can acquire a business in a box that cost millions of dollars to develop. A business that can be operated from a spare bedroom and PC.Uniquely, the independent distributor not only gets to retail the companys products to a global market, but also has the right to license others to do the same and be paid an on-going percentage on their volumes i.e. residual or passive income. Thats a major advance on the franchise model, which is not only more restrictive but depends on the traditional employer / employee relationship to achieve productivity and income leverage. The network marketing model has matured substantially over the decades. The rough edges of the pioneering companies have been addressed by new entrants. They are unencumbered by legacy compensation plans that made a few people enormously rich at the expense of the many. These companies focus on training, retention and early rewards for success. They make financial independence an objective that can be achieved by a large middle class of distributors within a 1 to 3 year time scale. Distributors are no longer required to hold inventory or deliver products. All aspects of inventory management, delivery and payment are managed by the company. The independent distributors responsibility is to focus on increasing the volume of products going through their respective organisations with the aid of sophisticated internet technology, but without a requirement for employees or premises. In the words of Dr Stephen R. Covey: I think network marketing has come of age. Its become undeniable that its a viable way to entrepreneurship and independence for millions of people.
This is the fourth of eight articles about website design. Our discussion will deal with some of the issues which need to be considered when developing a new online presence. You may have already thought of some of these, but perhaps there are probably things which you havent even considered. In the last article, we discussed domain name registration. This week, we are going to start our search for a webmaster, aka "web designer." Unless you are an accomplished programmer, you are going to have to spend some money at this point. For example, is the server you are thinking about Linux/Apache or Windows based? Will it support dynamic pages, or only static, and if they do support dynamic will they support both PHP as well as ASP? Or do they stick to one flavor of dynamic. If these terms mean nothing to you, you are going to need the services of a webmaster, and now is the time to bring one on board, either as a contractor, or as an employee.Web designers tend to specialize, so don't feel like you need to get someone who is versed in every aspect of website design. If you just want a basic HTML site then just about anyone with "web design" experience should be able to help, but please don't call cousin Sam who just took an intro course and the community college. You want someone who knows something about business as well as websites, for you are building a business website. If you are not going to take orders online, then a static site, primarily for image purposes, is a good way to start. But if you need a dynamic database driven site, you will need someone who understands PHP and MySQL. One who does ASP and Microsoft SQL may not be able to help, or perhaps they can. There are many choices you can make here, but if cost is a major factor, stick with PHP, MySQL and some form of Linux. You may not know what they are, but when I say that they are free to use, it may give you good reason to think that way. And, believe it or not, there are A LOT of folks supporting these products for the good of the world, without pay. In my opinion, MySQL rivals any database system in the world for almost any use, and it is totally free for you to use. This is one time, my friend, that you get a lot more than you pay for!The Yellow Pages are a good place to look for a designer. The size of the ad may give you an idea of experience and cost. A shop with many programmers is going to be more expensive, but may save money in the long run. In any case, get several estimates.A web designer should be able to build a mock ups, or rough demo, for you early on to give you an idea of what the site may look like. They can put together some basic pages, add images and some generic text to give you a feel for the site. Do not expect to see a final site before you fork over some cash. There are generally two ways to pay for a project like this, either a flat fee or by the hour. If you know precisely what you want, then go for a flat fee. If you do that, however, do not expect to make a lot of changes or additions that you expect to be done at no cost. You do not want to make your webmaster unhappy. For most of us, an hourly based time and materials contract is best. The designer can give you ball-park estimates and tell you what it will cost per hour for anything else. And there will be changes, trust me.Next time, we will talk about hosting your new site.
Unless you've been living under an Internet rock, you've probably heard the buzz about Niche Marketing. Right now it's the hottest marketing topic online. Is it a new concept? Well on the Internet maybe, but if like me, you've been involved in direct response marketing in the 'Bricks and Mortar' world then it isn't - that's the way we've done things since time immemorial. So what's this Niche Marketing thing all about? If you have ever taken Marketing 101 then you'll have heard of the old marketing adage : "Find a need and fill it" -that's what "Niche Marketing" is all about. Finding a "focused" group of people, with a specialized interest, eager to buy (The Niche) and promoting a suitable product or service to all those interested in buying it (Marketing). Let me give you a few examples of these Niches : Recipes Golf Fishing Health and Fitness Travel Collectibles Dating Dog Training Satellite TV Beauty Tips Astrology Cats Bartending Alternative Health Hand-poured Candles Gourmet Foods Gambling Mortgages Credit Cards Music Jewellery ...... the list just goes on and on and these are just the main headings, there are niches within each of these niches ... Think of a subject and there's likely a niche market for it... But the name of the game is to find a "tightly focused" niche. The reason for this that if you target a general market the competition is fierce and it's hard, if not impossible, for the little guy to get a foothold. When you narrow down the size of the market you eradicate most of the heavy hitters with bottomless advertising budgets, because these guys aren't interested in making a few thousand bucks a year from these tiny specialized markets, they're after millions from mass markets... ... And let's face it if you're a little guy you simply can't be everything to everybody, so you must pick a specific focus (Niche) for your business. For example don't target "Fishing", instead target "Fishing Baits" or "Fishing Lures" both of which have a much more specific focus... ...Get the idea? Once you narrow down the size of the market you have an automatic advantage over larger companies. Here's why : * You can quickly become an expert in your niche (if you're not already) * It's easier to keep current with a narrowly focused market niche * You can respond faster to changes in the market * You can build close relationships with key customers that will be hard to compete with This is something I learned from experience - if you're interested you can read my story here : http://www.nichemarketknowhow.com/articles/andre-anthony-value-of-niche-marketing.htm. By now you're probably wondering about the mechanics of this niche marketing stuff. In a nutshell here's how it works : * Find and research profitable niche markets * Locate or develop suitable products/services to market * Set up a web site to market the products/services * Establish a marketing system that works for you * Repeat the process over and over again with a different niche each time. Imagine having a niche site producing one sale a day at say $20. That's $7300 a year - how many sites could you set up and run 10, 20 ....? But before you get too excited, I have a word of caution for you: Niche marketing is not a magic bullet. It isn't a matter of putting up a web site and then sitting back and waiting for the money to roll in - "build it and they will come" may have worked for Kevin Costner in Field of Dreams, but it doesn't work that way on the Internet - if you do that you'll be waiting a long time. If you want a successful niche business, you have to work at it just like any other business - if you're prepared to put in the effort though the rewards can be significant.
Do you want to make 200k or more a year? Begin now, working only three hours a week on the internet. I know there are many advertisements on the net that claim you can make money, and just about everyone has seen them before. Well I was one of those people until I stumbled upon "The Rich Jerk" book. Before I was enlightened on how to properly make money on the net by the jerk, I tried multi level marketing, pyramid schemes, auctions, surveys, home data entry and much more. I made a few dollars from those methods, but not enough so I make a living from, or even a second income for that matter. So then I started buying some book's from people who claimed to make loads of money, and thankfully I only bought a couple before I found The Rich Jerk. The Rich Jerk was the last book that I ever bought, and will be forever. Why? Because the methods that he teaches you are honest, easy to implement and they actually make the internet a better place! It's a win-win situation for all and can be done by anybody and everybody, plus there is no limit to the amount you can make. You don't have to quit your job; you could just make some money on the side or become a full time internet business entrepreneur. It is completely up to you and the amount of effort you put into it.At first I was of course skeptical, since I failed so many times, but I was determined to make money on the net so I knew I had to go for it. The full money back guarantee though is what really made me decide to get this book because I thought "What do I have to lose right?" Well that wasn't all that made this book great though, their were forums, a helpful blog and email updates of new money making opportunities that are working for the rich jerk. In fact the book was so good, that I read it many times over, and was very surprised to find out all the ways you can make money on the internet. In the first week after using the knowledge in The Rich Jerk, I made $526. I plan to keep doing this until I have enough money to retire, but even then I probably wont stop because it is fun to make money on the net using The Rich Jerks methods. If you still want to know a little about what is actually covered in The Rich Jerks book, below is an overview of his e-Book and the overall ways you will learn to make money on the net. The chapters are actually very detailed and informative, these are just descriptions below.Chapter 1- Creating an Affiliate Network that sells like CrazyChapter 2 - Unique Search Engine PPC Strategies - That Kill your CompetitionChapter 3 - Search Engine Optimization StrategiesChapter 4 - Selling Your Own Information ProductChapter 5 - Buying Wholesale and Selling on EBayChapter 6 - Creating a website you can make Profitable Right NowChapter 7 - Other Online Ventures to ConsiderChapter 8 - Supplemental Info for BeginnersChapter 9 - Quality Products/Services I Highly RecommendLike I said before though, updates, a blog and a forum with people trying to make money on the net like you are included free of charge with this book. That is why I consider it to be the best of the best, because no one else really offers this kind of help and support. Also most of the books being sold that claim to help you make money on the net are really just scams, and are actually written by people who dont even make money on the internet! The Rich Jerk has been around for years and has helped so many others become rich jerks too, including myself. To try this incredible book completely risk free, Click Here!
At Home rebate processing has become the most popular Work at Home program available on the web. Millions of people are turning to this online opportunity to create extra income for their family. Some people want to earn extra money to pay the bills. Many are unemployed and need any sort of income, while others want to replace their current income so they can work from the comfort of his or her home. Regardless of the reasons many are looking to the web to change their lifestyle. We have all seen the ads such as process rebates, rebates processor, home rebate processor, "process rebates" from home, earn cash processing rebates and more. These are just a few of the many types of ads seen daily on search engines like Google, Yahoo, Msn or any of the other search engines.I limited my research to find the most popular rebate program for 2008. It turns out that it is the same program that was the top rebate program on my site in 2007. Anyone can go to my site to find that particular program, but I wanted to show you how to find the best programs yourself. You can then apply these same principles to any work at home program. Here are the steps: 1. Research - Review the many rebate programs locating the most popular of the group for 2008. 2. Review their track record of payments to at home workers. It is normal to get some bad press, but the overwhelming news should be good. 3. Check with website owners like myself to see which ones are the most popular among their visitors. Many sites, like myself, will offer at Top 10 list which will show you which programs are most popular among frequent visitor to their site. 4. Ask yourself if you have the skill sets to do what is required? 5. Ask yourself does what is required fall within your comfort zone? 6. Ask yourself do you have the time to do the work at home required? 7. Ask yourself does the payment per rebate match your income goals? Many times companies will offer $15.00 per rebate.Once you have done all of the task listed above you will find the Top 2008 rebate company that matches your work at home profile. This is a term that I developed, because I wanted to understand why some people had great success and others did not. What I found was that many people will simply jump into the first program they see that has a pretty welcome page without doing any research. I recommend either using a website like mine, but not necessarily mine that has done some research for you or be prepared to do the research yourself. You have to be careful when doing your research, because I found some companies that charged many times more for what looked like the same program. If you have read this article closely you will find that there is a possibility that the top 2008 "rebate processor" could be different for some people. Once you have found the right company, join, exercise patience and start changing your lifestyle. Everyone can use some extra money and it could be sufficient to change your lifestyle. Please feel free to read both this article or one of my many others by visiting my link in the resource box below. I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles or my site. Your feedback is important to me.Don't be afraid to request additional information from website owners on how a rebate program works. If they offer it on their site they should be prepared to provide this information. I hope that you have great success!
